Yes, that’s right. I got a perm. Weird right? I never thought I would get one.
There is this Korean haircut place in Diamond Bar/Nogales. It is a pretty cute, typical asian shopping center. Right next to a facial dermatology center and a coffee bean, lies a Korean Salon where I got my perm.
Here is the before and after!

It was an interesting experience! My virgin hair never really gets any action so they told me that it might not stay as long as normal. I got a “Digital Perm” which is basically a different than a regular one in that it uses less heat. It’s common in Asian countries and apparently has less “side effects” in that it should last longer, be better for your hair, and take less time. i don’t know about that last one. The whole process took almost 2 1/2 hours!
1. They washed my hair:

2. Trimmed it a little:

3. Put the chemicals and solution in and wrap it around curlers:

4. Then they attach these wires to the ends of the curlers in order to heat and curl the hair. This part is what makes the digital perm different than a regular one. It supposedly uses less heat. I’ve never gotten a regular perm so I have nothing to base it off of. It got pretty hot though!
It looks like an alien from the back:

It was fun…. I even saw Jenn Kim in one of the Korean magazines!

5. Style and finish. Tada! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Let’s hope it lasts a long time!

I received an early Christmas gift from my boss:

I feel very spoiled. :]
I need a new watch. Something cute, sweet, functional, and stylish of course. Any ideas?
I really want one that’s not too expensive and maybe waterproof? I like simple looking ones, with a face not too big. haha. I don’t know. There are so many great ones nowadays. Here’s some inspiration so far.

What do you think?
To whom it may concern,
I wanted to discuss a pressing and urgent issue with you. This topic is an important and relevant matter regarding the fashion industry today. It demands time and caution while choosing, and offers an unmistakable satisfaction to its owner when chosen correctly.
Since the dramatic spike in temperature has caused a rapid growth in more beach-appropriate clothing, I find it necessary to take these important steps in finding a solution to this problem.
Finding the perfect swimsuit has become said problem.
I propose the following ideas for brainstorming purposes:

Kindly think of any suggestions, ideas, and monetary support to offer at our next meeting. I thank you in advance for our collaboration. I know we will have many satisfactory beach outings, bonfire smore-making memories, and great times in store in the near future wearing these fabulous swimsuits.
Sincerely,
Meagan Huynh

Hey! How are you doing today?
I’ve been SUPER busy at work. We’re feeding all of our health facilities to celebrate Nurse’s Week so I’ve been running up and down Southern California…and have gotten super close to my friends at Costco:]
But it’s started to get pretty warm already, so I’ve been trying to find some cute clothes to wear for Spring!
Ooh, Spring, how you tease me.
Hello!
Today, I want to let you all in on a little secret: I LOVE ANTHROPOLOGIE!
I love the store, the clothes, the furniture, and especially the window displays. I don’t actually own that many things from Anthropologie, but I do love everything about it. I even have an Anthropologie card! hah. I find that it’s just too darn expensive for my limited budget. But I did splurge on this cool book. It has questions for every day of the year and you can fill it in for that day for five years! Pretty cool, huh?
Anyway, I was browsing their website and came across these fantastic pieces:

It’s been really cold lately! Normally I love cold weather…but this time it brought me a cold! Not good since it’s almost Easter! Nonetheless, I’ve been bundling up.
I’ve always loved scarves. I like their look, their warmth, and you can use them for almost anything!
Here are some super cute scarves:

braided scarf
from daWanda

polaroid scarves
from jargol

spring scarves
from anthropologie

knitted scarves

Don’t you just love these?! It’s been so cold lately, I just can’t wait for spring to arrive!
Guess what…I got a job! :)
I’m so happy. I feel relieved, excited, nervous, scared, and a whole bunch of other emotions at the same time. I work with Martin at Charter Hospice as an event planner, of sorts. I dont know all the details (I just got the position on Friday) but I’m happy. This feels so fast. One day I’m relaxing at home, a new graduate…and now I start my first job on Monday. Wow.
Now that I’m starting a new job, I’ve been on the hunt for some cute casual/professional work attire that i might need.
Time to go shopping!
