Framed String

I made a new art piece for my room:

I used an old frame from the thrift store. It was only $4!

I was inspired to do this when I found this pinkish, scalloped-edged ribbon at 3 Way Thrift. It was steal at only $0.79! (Plus, it was a yellow ticket… meaning it was %50 off! Score.)

I tied short strings of it on the frame. This took a VERY long time.

Add letters and Tada! done. (I added these letters from an Anthropology After-Christmas Sale.) For less than $10, now you have a custom art piece out of random scraps. I typically start without knowing where I’m going and this was definitely one of those times.

See, my room is getting a little more crazy.

..and that’s a wrap

I LOVE wrapping gifts. yup.

This is a gift I gave to one of Martin’s cousins, who just got married. I used a card box I found in my craft room. Most of the materials I use when I craft are found in my junk boxes that are just  full of random stuff I find from the thrift store. I always try to use and reuse things and refurbish them for new purposes.

I gave this one to marie as a belated birthday gift. You can watch her sing here. She is too cool.

Both of these gifts showcased a vintage postal sticker lining bought from Michael’s in the sale section for 2 bucks (score!).

I love all things vintage, which is why I always have such a great time scouring thrift stores for the coolest items with the best deals. Don’t you just love finding good deals?

Labled Goodies

So writing everyday was harder than I imagined. haha

Today, I want to offer some free downloadable printable labels that you could use for organization, gift baskets, gift cards, address labels, or pretty much anything! They are just so darn cute. I found them on Pinterest – check it out here to see the other ones I pinned.

This is one of my favorites. You can download it here from Tart Workshop

This scalloped one is so freakin cute! Download it here.

These are called, “Happy Spring labels” I love the artsy-ness about it. Download it here.

Get these Cute circle and oval ones here.

Get these cute green ones here:

These black and white placecards would be cute for a dinner party or labels for mason jars. Get these here.

and these envelope labels are so cute! They would work so well for the gift baskets I give for Charter. Find them here. You can just make them from brown construction or cardstock paper.

I love organizational things; these labels are just so cute. So download them, print them out, and enjoy! Put it on everything! I’m going to use them for my gifts, jars, and parties.

That’s all for now!

Handmade Cards

So a couple of weeks ago, one of my best friends came over to craft with me! We had a lot of fun making cards and random things.

mine looked more abstract while hers looked cute and whimsical

I made these plant tags for my garden awhile back. I don’t know why I try so hard to make tags for something that’s outside and will get ruined with watering…but I still like to make it anyway, I dont know why! haha.

Speaking of my garden, things have been coming along quite well! I’ll have to update you with newer pictures, but my tomatoes are almost grown, and the strawberries are still sweet! (although they only come 2 at a time). I want to have more time to garden and clean the backyard, hopefully on Sunday I’ll have more time. I have so many ideas for the remodel I don’t even know where to start!

yay!

Emma

Last weekend, Martin, my mom and I set out to Arizona for my cousin Emma’s First Communion/Confirmation. The cutest little 9-year old. She’s curious, talkative, and friendly.

Isn't she cute?!

Anyway, I made her a cute gift and I wanted to share it with you!

First, I got an empty box. This one’s from Ikea, and it’s already decorated on the outside.

I then made cute little cards describing the small gifts inside. 3 in all:

I hope she liked it :)

Gift Wrapping

Have I ever mentioned that I love wrapping gifts? I really do. I love it when Christmastime comes around. Even if I don’t have anything good to give, I’d still want to wrap it nice and pretty. Haha.

I love pretty bows, ribbons, and lace.  I love gift wrapping! It calms and relaxes me. I’ve been doing a lot of crafting at work – we are making these huge gift baskets for Nurse’s Week next month, and I have to make 60! Whoa. We’re trying to get everything ready, and it’s pretty stressful! I’ll post soon about my progress and hopefully add some pictures! Stay tuned.

Owls and Such

Yesterday, I made owls with one of my best friends. We crafted all night and hung out, enjoying each others company. We saw this cute owl thing here. So we decided to recreate it! YES!

I traced out a figure..

Cut it out…

glued it together and drew on some eyes… isn’t he cute?

We made so many!

I made some cards out of them too…

What do you think? Cute, right?
